...if people would rejoin the server in the event of a crash. Yes, it's aggravating when it crashes. But pretty much every new game has its growing pains. If you really are done for the night, fine, but it would be great if people would help out the community by rejoining the server in the event of a crash. It's not like we don't try our best to stay on top of it, and believe me, experience so far shows that as soon as you get 7-8 people, it's really not long at all until the server fills.
Having everyone bail and/or go join other servers because ours momentarily hiccuped is counterproductive, not to mention the fact that it shows a lot of disrespect to the people that donate their time and money to make having our own server possible.
Yesterday we had a crash early on in the day. The difference is, yesterday, everybody came back in and did a great job of two things:
1)getting it popped again;, and
2) being willing and able to switch teams when necessary to keep teams even, which is clearly critical in maintaining a population.
This was great. As far as I can tell, the server stayed popped, and full or close to it, for about 14 hours. When I went to bed, late, it was still totally rockin. Keep it up, guys!
Just wanted to echo Malacca's statements. Everyone who has been playing BFBC2 has done an excellent job of keeping the server populated. In fact, we have completed several "24 hr" cycles. I believe we are in the top ten percent of populated servers (and amongst 32 max slots probably higher). Good job.
Of course, as soon as I post this, it crashed![]()
At 12:50 PM today, the server was full (32/32)...and none of us were even in it. Sweet!
Everyone would know about this if they actually checked out all the cool features on the new front page instead of just obsessing over the dark skin....![]()

Tomorrow, 12th March, and Saturday, 13th March at 8:00GMT/9:00 CET:12:00 (midnight) PST, EA will take the servers down, this time we will come up with even more hardware with more capacity to handle all the BFBC2 traffic. Once the maintenance is complete you will experience an improvement to your online experience.
This will be extended maintenance to allow the new hardware to be installed and affect all three platforms (PC, PS3 and Xbox 360).
Maintenance on Friday 12th will last for 4 hours - 8:00 GMT to 12:00 midday GMT/9:00 CET to 13:00 CET/12:00 midnight PST to 4:00 PST.
With any luck, EA will masterfully take down the servers during peak gaming hours.
It's either 3-7 PM EST or 3-7 AM EST I think. I dunno.
Better not be from 6pm to 2 AM EST or I will be very very e-sad.
