What's the best way to level up sneak? I've been trying to do it before getting into conflict, but it levels so slow

When you get into dungeons just sneak. When I houses, sneak. When in doubt, sneak. I'm at about 60 sneak at level 12. Granted, I did take the thief stone.

I like my old strategy of chamelon armor 100%....walk up to guard...punch guard in face....laugh at guard as he screams WHO GOES THERE!....i dont know if this will work in skyrim though.

Skyrim is like pandora's box for me :/ Just started playing and I already get that Fable vibe. "Oh hey welcome to my store, my priceless artifacts are over there on the shelf. No, no I don't have a security system protecting them. Oh they'll be fine, the door is locked though I leave a spare key under the potted plant incase I forget! Gee wilikers I hope no one steals my stuff. But everyone here is so trusting!"

Same deal in Skyrim. the first house I enter you can take everything from. Even that crummy basket n the corner. I ended up stealing the armour and weapons while the NPCs were chatting about some sort of dragon or whatever. Then I got my first mission to go to the town over. After walking over a mountain I thought to myself, walking is gay. I then happened upon a stable and asked if I could buy a horse. "Oh yea I have a horse, but he is really expensive. Yea that horse over there. The one who is fully ready to go on a week long march. I even have some supplies packed on his saddle just incase! Tie him up? How barbaric! Say have I told you the story of how I hurt my leg in a war? It makes it hard to run for any sort of distance. Well you don't have enough cash so go eat shit hahahahaha!"

So I stole the horse, got caught by a guard who heard from a friend of a friend that I had stole a horse 2 seconds ago. I agree to pay the fee and return my stolen horse. Of course they take everything I stole, even the armour from two towns over. "Hmmm this armour looks suspiciously stolen, better take it anyway! Welp go eat shit now hahahaha"

I stole the horse again and proceeded to ride off in to the sunset
