Classes in C9 (Updated 2/6/2013)

Recommended Posts

continent-of-the-ninth-seal.jpg

There are four basic classes available in C9: Fighter, Hunter, Shaman, and Witchblade. They are gender-locked. At level 10 and after taking the test, you can become an Elite in your class (Elite Fighter, Shaman, etc). At level 20 and after completing THAT test, you get to pick your advanced class. This is permanent. Check the links to see gameplay videos of each advanced class!

Fighter:

Fighters are born for powerful melee combat. Experts at using a shield and sword, they dash into combat, slicing monsters with their swords while pummeling them with their shields. This is a class for those who want to be on the front lines, personally dishing justice to their opponents.

Main Hand: Sword

Off Hand: Buckler

Guardians are the closest thing to a tank in C9. Able to use any type of shield up to the massive Bulwark, this armored monstrosity charges into the battlefield, drawing all enemy eyes onto himself so he can allow his companions to destroy them. Guardians employ a variety of wide AoE attacks, as well as moves that allow him to mostly stay in a protective position while still attacking opponents. Guardians also have an AoE taunt.

Main Hand: Sword

Off Hand: Bucklers, Medium Shields, Bulwarks

The Warrior uses his entire body as a weapon, utilizing sword and shield techniques as well as grabs to pulverize the opponent. More offensive than the Guardian, but can carry a stronger shield than the Blademaster.

Main Hand: Sword

Off Hand: Bucklers, Medium Shields

The fastest of the Fighters, the Blademaster forgoes the brute force of the rest of the Fighters and instead uses his blade as a paintbrush, spelling doom onto his attacks. Can switch into a more offensive Attack Stance, where his shield is disabled. A swing of his sword can cut opponents from even a distance away.

Main Hand: Sword

Off Hand: Bucklers

The slowest of the Fighters, but boasting the highest raw attack damage, the Berserker wields his mighty Greatsword in combat and unleashes his rage for tons of damage. This is a class for those who don't care about defense, and just want to brutally slaughter their enemies.

Main Hand: Greatsword

Off Hand: N/A

Hunter:

Nimble combatants, the Hunter will dance around the battlefield, preforming quick combos on opponents while easily evading return blows. This is the fastest base class of them all, and can also attack at range with a bow.

Main Hand: Dagger, Blade

Off Hand: Bow

The fastest of all classes (except perhaps the Shadow), the Assassin specializes in long strings of elaborate melee combos, with a few ranged moves to poison the opponent, or perhaps pull them to him.

Main Hand: Dagger, Blade

Off Hand: Bow

This class specializes in powerful long-ranged attacks. Many of the ranger's attacks require a charging time, but he boasts the highest range of any class, as well as high damage and survivability.

Main Hand: Dagger, Blade

Off Hand: Bow

Traps. Lots and lots of traps. The Scout can fight plenty well in melee range, but his hallmark is the placing of traps that can burn his foe to a cinder (as well as those around said foe) or freeze his opponents where they stand. He can also call in powerful artillery, and has a wide variety of gadgets he can employ on the battlefield.

Main Hand: Dagger, Blade

Off Hand: Bow

The fastest of all classes (except perhaps the Assassin), the Shadow uses his two blades to carve holes in his opponent at close range. Using purely melee combos, he can quickly dice his opponent into shreds.

Main Hand: Dagger, Blade

Off Hand: Dagger, Blade

Not yet released in Global, but it appears that while the Gunner is a ranged class (mid-range), he is still swift and uses mid-to-melee range attacks and combos. As of 2/6, still not released, and there is no release date yet. :(

Main Hand: Dual Pistols?

Off Hand: Shotgun?

Shaman:

Combining powerful magic and physical arts, the Shaman is a versatile class that can preform any role she wants on the battlefield, whether it be that of a mage or a fighter.

Main Hand: Magic Staff

Off Hand: N/A

Using pure magic for pure damage, the Elementalist can call down the elements (duh) to rain destruction on her foes. She can bring down lightning to daze and smite her foes, then a gigantic comet to send them to the depths of hell. This class has more damage than the Illusionist, but less control.

Main Hand: Magic Staff

Off Hand: N/A

Also focusing on her magical abilities, the Illusionist can create phantom weapons that slice her opponents before detonating, causing massive AoE damage. She can even create a large tornado, sucking her foes in before cutting them to shreds. She can also summon a creature that taunts nearby enemies. This can also detonate. The Illusionist has more crowd control than the Elementalist, but less raw damage.

Main Hand: Magic Staff

Off Hand: N/A

Max Fury Skill

A hybrid class utilizing both magical spells and physical attacks, the Taoist can dash across the battlefield smashing fools with her staff or rod, inflicting massive damage whether you build her physical, magical, or both.

Main Hand: Magic Staff, Rod (Battle Staff)

Off Hand: N/A

The Reaperess has a lot of melee-shortish ranged moves that afflict damage-over-time debuffs as well as boost her critical strike chance (an odd combo). She also has several moves that affect the ground they strike, causing a pillar of smoke (or darkness or something) to pulse from the area, dealing even more damage-over-time.

Main Hand: Scythe

Off Hand: N/A

Max Fury Skill

Witchblade:

The newest basic class to be added, the Witchblade uses both sword attacks and water magic to annihilate her foes.

Main Hand: Arc Dagger

Off Hand: Arc Sword

The Warden specializes in water magic to slow and wear down her enemies before coming in to finish with melee techniques. She can also use summons for added damage.

Main Hand: Arc Dagger

Off Hand: Arc Sword

Slayers dash through combat, quickly unleashing a burst of physical damage on an opponent before they have time to react. A very mobile class with high melee burst, but low defenses and AoE damage. Heavily utilizes grab attacks.

Main Hand: Arc Dagger

Off Hand: Arc Sword

The Bladedancer is stuffed full of short-ranged AoE moves (centered about herself) that all deal physical damage, and a lot of it. However, because of this she lacks high single target damage. To counterattack this slightly, her "autoattack" damage (that is, the left click attack) is massively increased. She spins. A lot. She also has many self-buffs she applies when doing certain actions (6 "autoattacks" in a row, 3rd hit a certain move, etc). Also, the earlier information about her not having any dashes is completely false. She has many (I believe around 5?), to the point that it's hard to use them all.

Main Hand: Arc Sword

Off Hand: Arc Sword

Nightfury:

Still no information. As far as I can tell, she is still not released in Korea (but this might be false, information about C9 is so hard to get. :( )

Main Hand: Unknown (Arc Dagger?)

Off Hand: Unknown (Arc Dagger?)

Max Fury Skill (Unknown)

Update. Added Gunner under Hunter, and linked each Advanced Class with a gameplay video, other than Berserker, as I don't think that the videos in the Korean version are up-to-date with the rework they just did on the class.

Update. Added the Berserker gameplay video, as well as the Max Fury skills for every class but Nightfury.

Note that these Max Fury skills are available in the Global Version (what we are playing) via a class quest given at level 49.

I've seen speculation that NightFury is a double dagger type class that emphasizes on combos and thrown attacks. (like that of a thief)

Arc Daggers give mostly magical damage and a little bit of physical, so throws are unlikely.

I could see her being a melee-caster-comboer type person though.
